Ex Libris/Bookplates is a site dedicated to pictorial bookplates and to all those who love bookplates - artists, collectors, bibliophiles, librarians and the simple amateur. In my opinion, this is the most complete site I found on the Internet.

"Many persons from around the world asked me about the history of my father's ex libris collection. He started it just before W.W. II, in a leather bound book.
During the war, other things take priority of his ex libris collection which he just started. When the Russian front approached Kalocsa (Hungary), we left the town, leaving everything behind. This book survived the pilfering of Russian army and locals.
Years later we were forced to live our home again by the communist regime, but this time some of the books came with us.
After the 1956 Hungarian revolution against the Russian occupation, I left Hungary and when I was allowed back to the country to visit in 1965, my father gave me his collection to bring with me to Canada.

These ex libris plates are from my father's (Ferenc Draskovich) collection from the 1920's and 1930's.
He was an agricultural engineer and was an officer of the famous "huszar's" during WW I.
Many of the shown plates are the work of the famous graphic artist Jenõ Haranghy, (1894-1951) who gave these plates personally to my father."

"Molte persone, da tutto il mondo, mi hanno chiesto la storia riguardante la collezione di ex libris di mio padre. Egli la iniziò appena prima la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, in un volume rilegato in pelle.
Quando il fronte russo si avvicinò a Kalocsa (Ungheria), fuggimmo dal paese, lasciando dietro tutto. Il volume sopravvisse ai furti dell'esercito russo e dei locali.
In seguito, fummo costretti dal regime comunista a tornare nella nostra casa, ma questa volta alcuni libri vennero con noi.
Dopo la rivoluzione ungherese del 1956 contro l'occupazione russa, lasciai l'Ungheria. Quando mi fu permesso di tornare indietro a visitare il Paese, nel 1965, mio padre mi diede la sua collezione, perché la portassi con me in Canada.

Questi ex libris fanno parte della collezione di mio padre, degli anni Venti e Trenta.
Egli era un ingegnere agricolo ed era un ufficiale dei famosi "usseri" durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale.
Molti degli ex libris riprodotti sono opera del famoso artista Jenõ Haranghy, (1894-1951) che li diede personalmente a mio padre."

I found this site, it looks like a "message in a bottle"; was made in 1997, to celebrate the 1st International Exhibition "Ex Libris", 500th Birth anniversary of Juraj Julije Klovic and the 370 Years Founding Anniversary of Rijeka.
Exhibition was set at Kortil Gallery, Rijeka, at Croatian house of Culture, and was open to the public from Nov 19th to Dec 14th 1997.
In this site there are 9 ex libris.

Ho trovato questo sito, sorta di "messaggio in bottiglia", realizzato nel 1997 in occasione della "Mostra Internazionale Ex Libris", del 500mo anniversario di nascita di Juraj Julije Klovic (più conosciuto come Giulio Clovio) e del 370mo anniversario di fondazione di Rijeka (Fiume).
La mostra era ospitata nella Kortil Gallery, Rijeka, alla Casa Croata di Cultura, e rimase aperta al pubblico tra il 19 novembre e il 14 dicembre 1997.

Thomas Murray was born in Toronto in 1878 and died in Montreal on October 5, 1955. Apprenticed as a tailor as early as 1890, he moved to Montreal around the turn of the century and continued working in the garment industry. He operated his own manufacturing business from 1918 to 1928, amassing a small fortune which permitted him to retire at the age of fifty and to devote the rest of his life to his first love: books.
Thomas Murray was not only a collector of books and pamphlets, but also a collector of bookplates. Included in the acquisition were 11 three-ring binders containing the bookplates of prominent and lesser known individuals and institutions in Canada from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Thomas Murray naque a Toronto nel 1878 e morì a Montreal il 5 ottobre 1955. Apprendista sarto già dal 1890, si trasferì a Montreal più o meno alla fine del secolo, e continuò a lavorare nell'industria dell'abbigliamento. Condusse un'azienda in proprio tra il 1918 e il 1928, accumulando una piccola fortuna, che gli permise di ritirarsi a cinquant'anni e di dedicare il resto della sua vita al suo primo amore: i libri.
Thomas Murray non fu solo un collezionista di libri e librini, ma anche un collezionista di ex libris. Nella collezione ci sono 11 grandi raccoglitori contenenti gli ex libris di persone famose e no, e di istituzioni canadesi del diciannovesimo e primo ventesimo secolo.
In questo sito sono visibili sedici ex libris provenienti dalla sua collezione.
