1. Authors looking for a publisher (maybe Artifex?).
Q - Getting published by Artifex.
Dear Publisher, my name is Name Surname, I'm XX years
old. I wrote around XXX poems, published in many books/magazines/collections.
Many critics and local/nationwide magazines talked about me in favourable
terms, comparing my verses to those of Baudelaire/Luzi/Montale and
making connections to paintings of Morandi/Picasso/Van Gogh. Although
I received a number or proposals, I still did not publish my collections.
I send to you my first two collections, titled "Origins"
and "The flooding blood of my birthplace town" to let
you read them, tell me what you think and evaluate the chance to
PRINT, MARKET, SELL them. Sure of your interest, I thank you for
you time and effort. Your sincerly. Signature. Name Surname - Jones
Q. Street - London - UK
A - Dear Mr. Surname, if you browsed through my site, you certainly realized that I publish books with ex libris subject only. Why did you write to me, then? On the other hand, if you did not browse through my site, why did you write to me? I figure out that you wrote the same letter to all the publisher you came across on the Internet - with an email address, and that maybe two or three of them bothered to reply (saying that they are not interested in it, blaming various excuses, and so on). If you want to get published, by any publisher, you have to write the correct letter to the correct publisher. Your letter is incorrect, as I said earlier. You should be aware that a good first impression is fundamental: every publisher is different, you should focus on the publishers that actually publish woks similar to yours and write a letter accordingly. I publish works on the Ex Libris. I would be glad to read your original contributions to the matter: here, it is not important from where a writer comes from. Articles are not required and not paid, I keep the right to publish them only on the Internet, and I publish them on "Block Notes" and through this mailing list (of which an Italian version also exsist). Best wishes.

We ask for ** ORIGINAL ** material , of which we'll hold the sole

The contributions, ideally, would not exceed the 1.500 words,

Q - 5.2. I wish to exchange my Ex Libris.
Dear Mr. Nicoli, I'm an Ex Libris and small graphics collector.
I'm an artist as well, I make xilographies/etchings. My collection,
started by my grandfather/my father/me amounts at 10/100/1.000/10.000/100.000
units. I collect these sheets by technique/nation/author/subject.
Is it possible to exchange a few Ex Libris with you? I'm looking
for catalogues, magazine, books on the subject. I'd be grateful
if you'd pass my address to other collectors. With kind regards,
Exlibris Collector.
A - Dear Mr. Collector, you'll find on the links page a number of websites of interest to you. You could also leave a message on our forum. You could also try and join the Ex Libris Group, probably the largest mailing list devoted to the ex libris. The official language of this group is the English. Thanks for writing. With kind regards.
