The international contest ex libris and short
stories 2007 “Il bosco stregato”
Art 1 – The international contest ex libris
and short stories 2007 “Il bosco stregato” is organized
by the Association Solstizio d’Estate – Festival dei
Saperi e dei Sapori Onlus. The sponsorship is Museo Ex Libris Mediterraneo
of Ortona, and the regions Abruzzo and Piedmont.
Art 2 – It consists of the two following categories: ex libris and short stories.
Ex
Libris category
Art 3 – The contest is open to the artists from all the world.
Art 4 – The subject of the contest for both categories is “the fantastic and magic world of the wood”, inspired by the theme “Little Red Riding Hood and the evil wolf”.
Art 5 – The largest size for the works must
be cm 13x9. Technics allowed are chalcography, lithography and xylography
in their different and original expressions. The ex libris should
be registered in the Association “Solstizio d’Estate”
or in a living person.
A greatest importance will be given to the graphic and calligraphic
qualities of the works.
Short stories category
The category is adressed to
• Primary schools and Mountain schools
• Secondary schools
• Dante Alighieri schools abroad
Art 7 – The subject of the contest is about the fantastic and magic world of the wood: Little Red Riding Hood and the evil wolf.
Art 8 – The subject can be freely reinterpretated by the schools
Art 9 – The best works in the “Ex
libris” category will be given the following awards:
- 1st classified € 800,00
- 2nd classified € 700,00
- 3rd classified € 600,00
- 4th classified € 500,00
- 5th classified € 400,00
- 6th classified € 300,00
Art 10 – The best works in the “Short
stories” category will be given the following awards:
Primary schools and Mountain schools: 1st classified € 200,00
- 2nd classified € 150,00 -3rd classified € 100,00
Secondary schools: 1st classified € 200,00 - 2nd classified
€ 150,00 - 3rd classified € 100,00
Dante Alighieri schools: 1st classified € 300,00 - 2nd classified
€ 250,00 - 3rd classified € 200,00
Special appreciation for works mentioned by the jury.
Art 11 – For the ex libris works 3/5 original and signed copies are required. Works must be received not later than March 15, 2007 to the following adress:

Artists are required an informative schedule containing:
- complete artist name, adress and e-mail
- short curriculum vitae
- a description of the work and technic utilized
Art 12 – The maximum length for short stories must be 16.000 characters on cd Rom (MS Word) and paper to be delivered not later than March 15 2007 to the following adress:

Art 13 – Works sent won’t be given back.
Art 14 – Judges opinion is inquestionable.

Art 15 – Selected works will be presented by “Salone del Libro” of Turin and will be exposed in Piedmont and Abruzzo from May to November 2007 by the Association “Solstizio d’Estate” (CN) and Ex Libris Museum of Ortona.
Art 16 – A catalogue will be envoyed to each artist that will ask about it. Postal charges forward.
Art 17 – To participate to this contest artist must absolutely accept the regulations above.
