The meeting for the prize-giving was on May 17, 2006 at 5:00 pm
with Adriana Invernizzi, secretary without right to vote.
We have received 129 works of 60 artists, from 13 countries.

After a general examination the Jury evaluation result from the
excellent quality level of the works to examine and establish the
judgment criteria following this elements: 1. The conformity to
the regulations. 2. The general artistic evaluation. 3. The composition
of the work. 4. The personal interpretation of the thematic beloveds
to Remo Palmirani. 5. The originality and the refinement in the
use of the engraving and printing techniques. 6. The design of the
lettering.
122 works of 53 artists from 13 countries are admitted. (…).
7 works of 6 artists are not admitted because not consistent to
the regulations or arrived beyond the term, but however present
in exposition and some in the catalogue (…).
24 artists exceed the first selection (…).
Then are 13 selected artists, number that corresponds to the prizes
available. (…)

After a last selection 5 artists are chosen (Ettore Antonini,
Yuri Borovitsky, Luigi Casalino, Viola Tycz, Vladimir Zuev) and
between these, the Jury decides to assign ex aequo
the “Remo Palmirani Prize 2006 for the artist” to: Viola
Tycz – Poland. Gold medal and diploma for the emblematic
and mysterious representation of life, sight like a natural and
aware metamorphosis of the being. And moreover for the innovative
use of the chalcographic techniques and for the pleasantly light
and refined lettering .
Yuri Borovitsky – Russia. Gold medal and
diploma for the pleasantly plastic way to represent the topics eros
and thanatos, where man and woman, the sun and the moon, the light
and the shadow, the beginning and the end, are the paradigm of the
existence. And moreover for the virtuosity express in the use of
the mezzotint” (...)
