Fiori - Vincenzo Piazza - Flowers

This catalogue has been published on occasion for the exhibition "Vincenzo Piazza - FLOWERS", held in Complesso Chiaramontano of Agrigento, between 28 May and 3 July 2005.
The catalogue includes pastels, drawings and etchings made by the well-known Sicilian artist, among whose works there also are renowned ex libris. Piazza, after dedicating, for almost fifteen years, exclusively to the expression of the black and white and the etching, rediscovers colours and starts again to paint.
I quote the full introduction to the catalogue by Cesare Renda, President of the Consorzio Regionale Floricultori, the Society that took care of the publication of the catalogue: «The cultural journey that, for the last years, has created a continuous dialog with the territory and with the artistic experiences of the highest level continues.
Once again we have chosen to keep promoting the Sicilian artistic talent and the results obtained by Vincenzo Piazza make us proud to have been the promoter of the initiative.
By chance, but probably nothing happens by chance, the organisation of the exhibition coincides with the twentieth anniversary of Vincenzo Piazza's artistic activity. We are then happy to pay tribute and thank him for accepting the challenge of the theme proposed. Piazza has brought back the subject to his intimist visual reference representing it in the unusual and evocative light that is peculiar to his style.
Our initiatives are supported by those who believe in our enthusiasm and in this occasion I want to thank them personally for their contribution.
We can give our praise today for an event that is undoubtedly of great artistic value that will certainly find a place in its well defined context and that we hope will reach international recognition.»

Included with the head prints of the catalogue there's an original etching. Print run, made by Girolamo Poma with a star-shaped printing press, is of sixty copies; forty with Arab enumeration and twenty with Roman enumeration.
