Remo Palmirani Prize for the Artist

Introduction

The Ex Libris Mediterraneo Museum of Ortona (Chieti), sponsored by the heirs and in cooperation with the “Ex Libris” review and the “Italo Zetti” Foundation, institutes two biennial prizes in memory of Remo Palmirani, studious, man of letter, historian of the ex libris, collector and founder of the museum.
On the equal years the prize is called “Remo Palmirani Prize for the Artist”.
On the odd years the prize is called “Remo Palmirani Prize for the Studious”
The commitee of the prize will award with no fixed terms another prize, called “Remo Palmirani special Prize” reserved to artists, collectors, studiouses valuing their many years activity in the development of the knowledge and in the divulgation beyond the prizing the ex libris.

 

Rules of the “Remo Palmirani Prize 2006 for the Artist”

1) The participation is reserved to the artists who have realised one or more ex libris for Remo Palmirani. The artists may take part with yet produced ex libris for Remo Palmirani. Ex libris realised after the death or in his memory are not admitted.

2) The diffusion of this regulation will be realised throug our website. The museum will inform by letter and e-mail the interested artists, the FISAE, the foreign associations and the sector reviews.

3) Every received ex libris must be accompanied by the following informations: artist’s name, surname, address and nationality, technique on initials, opus number, year of execution. Facultatively required: e-mail address, a short english or italian curriculum vitae and a list of the ex libris created by the artist.

4) The work or the works must be sent in a single signed copy within april, the 28th 2006 to:

5) The jury, composed by qualified personalities of ex libris ambit, wich judgement is unquestionable, will award the following prizes:
Gold medal coined on purpose and a certificate “Remo Palmirani Prize 2006 for the Artist”, a sojourn in Ortona in occasion of the awrarding of the prizes and one exhibition on date to settle.
Twelve more certificates of merit.

6) The rewarded artists will be informed by letter and/or e-mail. The results will be published on the museum website www.exlibrismed.it on july 2006.

7) The Ex Libris Mediterraneo museum keeps the right to publish, on paper or digital format, the images of the presented works. The received works and the paper and digital attached documents will enter to be part of the historical archives of the museum and of the Remo Palmirani Research Centre.

8) The exhibitions. The prize exhibition will be held in the expositive area of the Ex Libris Mediterraneo museum and will include the works of the rewarded artists and other works selectioned by the jury. A catalogue will be published. The virtual exhibition of the Remo Palmirani prize will be also published on the website www.exlibrismed.it and will include all the sent works.

9) The awarding of the prizes and the exhibitions inauguration will be held on july, the 15th 2006 at the Ex Libris Mediterraneo museum of Ortona.
