3° International ex libris Competition 2005

we got news of a delay of the deadline for the participation, now
the date is 10 May 2006. The rules, in four languages, are now available
on the internet site of the City of Lomazzo: www.comune.lomazzo.co.it
RULES
Art. 1 - As part of the events “2005 - Un anno per ricordare” (2005 - an year to remember) the Town of Lomazzo opens the third edition of the International Competition, which has a five years interval, for the making of ex libris to be given to the Municipal Library.
Art. 2 - The theme to develop while making the ex libris is: "Incontro alla libertà" (“Meeting freedom”).
Art. 3 - The competition is open to artists from all over the world; thay can take part with on or more works, up to a maximum of three. Admitted techniques for the ex libris are: xylography, calcography, lithography on stone.
Art. 4 - Maximum dimensions of the engraving is 100x150 mm. It is compulsory to include the writing: “Ex libris Biblioteca Comunale di Lomazzo anno 2005“. All the works must be signed.
Art. 5 - The artist must send three copies of each ex libris, up to a maximum of three different works. These copies will be property of the organizations, which also gains the right to reproduce them on the catalogue and for any other institutional meaning.
Art. 6 - The works must come, along with a short
curriculum vitae and the complete address of the artist, before
the 10 april 2006, at the following address:

Art. 7 - The jury will give – no questions
asked – the following prizes:
1°) 600,00 €
2°) 600,00 €
3°) 600,00 €
There’s a special section devoted to young artists still attending
high school and university, with a maximum age of 25:
1°) 300,00 €
2°) 300,00 €
The organizing committee will be able to provide further prizes
as there might be further cultural events joining the competition.
Art. 8 - Winning artists will get the prize only after they give the matrix and the three copies of the work(s). Artists attending high school and university, who should win the special prize, must present proof they attend their school.
Art. 9 - Along the prize ceremony, there’ll be an exhibition with all the submitted works.
Art. 10 - There will be a catalogue, containing all or part of the works submitted. The catalogue will be in print and on the web. The internet address will be given at a later date on the Town web site www.comune.lomazzo.co.it.
Art. 11 -The participation to the competition
implies the total acceptance of these rules.
