Rules of the Ex Libris competition
INTERNATIONAL EX LIBRIS COMPETITION
XI WINTER PARALYMPIC GAMES (10-19 march 2006)
Art. 1 – The Lions Clubs District 108 Ia 1- Italy is organizing, with the support of Italian ex libris Association (AIE), the city of Turin and Toroc an international competition open to all graphic artists. The purpose of the competition is to attract interest for the ex libris as small-size graphic art and to give greater publicity to the artistc value of this property label used in books.
Art.2 – The Advisory Board has chosen the following theme: XI WINTER PARALYMPIC GAMES (Turin, 10-19 March 2006).
Art. 3 – The ex libris will mention the owner’s name (living person or existing institution) the word “ex libris” or “E L” and the writing “we serve”. The image will have a maximum height and width of 13 cm and will be printed on a paper of maximum A4.
Art. 4 – All graphic art techniques are permitted. Drawings, drafts and studies are excluded.
Art. 5 – The artists can send a maximum
of 3 different ex libris.

The ex libris must include: Name (in Blocks), a short curriculum vitae and full address of the artist, name and information about the identity of the titleholder, the applied technique and the year when it was made.
Art. 6 – The copies are expected before 15 December 2005.
Art. 7 – All copies will become property of the Lions Clubs District 108 Ia 1 and 1 copy will be given to Italia ex libris Association.
Art. 8 – There will be a separate ranking for the main techniques, decided by the jury.
Art. 9 – The following awards will be granted:
1st Prize 1.000 Euro
2nd Prize 750 Euro
3rd Prize 500 Euro
- Prize to younger than 30 years Euro 500
- Prize to best xylography Euro 500
- Prize to best lithography Euro 500
- Prize to best CAD/CGD Euro 500
Other prizes will be available for different techniques.
Art. 10 – The jury reserves the right to split the awards or not to grant them for lack of quality.
Art. 11 – The jury will be composed by the Lions Clubs Governor of District 108 Ia 1 or a substitute, the President of the Italian ex libris Association, by the Coordinator of the Competition, an artist and an collector of ex libris.
Art. 12 – A selection of the entries will be exhibited during the Winter Games in Turin. The program will be sent to all participants and will be published in qualified reviews.
Art. 13 – All selected participants will receive a catalogue.
Art. 14 – Entering this competition is subject to acceptance of all the rules and regulations.
