With the conception and the patronage of this International Competition, Lions Clubs believer in the spirit that since their foundation drives them, choose to promote, in the sphere of the XX Olympic Winter Games 2006, the values of the Paralympic Movement.
Since 1917 in fact, the Lions offer to anyone who wishes the opportunity to make themselves useful to our community being the promoters both of project of local interest and of ample range projects. Since the simple participation to the real cleaning of the Green Park, to the assistance to the blind people from all over the world, to the financial contribution of the restoration of Art and Culture. The Lions have since always represented an important point of reference to those people whose aim is to build a better future for their own community.
Today, with more than 46.000 clubs throughout 193 countries of different geographical areas, the Lions have broaden their objectives in order to be able to meet the rising needs of the International Community.
Programs continuously renew to satisfy new needs and major requests, but Lions Clubs mission always remains the same and perfectly reconfirms their “motto” “WE SERVE” chosen to distinguish the actions.
The Paralympic Games represent the very quintessence of the Olympic spirit. Men and women who through sheer strength of will break through the confines that imposed limits; athletic performances that convey the most moving message to everyone: there are only different abilities, magnificent, electrifying. The Paralympic Games are an integral part of the entire Olympic Event, of which they share the Spirit, the general philosophy, the organizing structure, the sport complex and the supporting infrastructures.
The aim of this competition is to match the motto “we serve” with the Paralympic movement to resume, through graphical witness, the spirit of assistance and of the taking care that has always distinguished the Lions actions.
