Where is Nyon?

At the western tip of Switzerland, the Suisse Romande… French-speaking but most people understand English… on the shores of Lake Léman… a wine-producing area…

Closest Major city: GENEVA, 20 minutes away from Nyon by train (25 directly from Geneva Airport), 20 minutes by car (motorway).

Further along the lake, Lausanne, which is about 30 minutes from Nyon.

Currency: Swiss franc (about 1.55 CHF to 1 Euro, 1.25 CHF to 1 USD).

How do I get there?

By car or by train, Geneva is on the main Paris - Milano and Zurich - Lyon axis.

By airplane, aim for Geneva airport (GVA). Geneva is the home of the discount airline, Easyjet: if you book four months ahead, return flights from most European capitals are less than €100! Visit www.easyjet.com.

There are also discount flights from the Far East and North America.

Remember to find out if you need a visa for Switzerland from the closest Swiss Embassy or Consulate. Let us know and we will send you an official letter of invitation.

Where can I stay?

Nyon and its surroundings abound with nice hotels which range from five-star to simple family pensions.

You should book your room yourself, and the best is to do it through the Nyon Tourism office:

You might enjoy swimming in the lake… the weather should be warm!
Nyon has many good restaurants and don’t miss the ‘filets de perche’ which the lake is reputed for… The perch is even on our logo…

The Registration Fee is 170,00 euro.
For accompanying persons, 150,00 euro
There is no discount.

BUT persons who pay before August 23rd 2005 get ONE OF THE TWO OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS FREE OF CHARGE…. The one of their choice!

Excursions cost €50 per person.
